Tecmo Koei announced today delays for two upcoming games, one each under the Koei and Tecmo labels.

From the Koei label, Trinity Zill O'll Zero will miss its March time frame. The PS3 RPG, a new entry in the Zill 0'll series that's being developed by Dynasty Warriors developer Omega Force, has also been flagged as release TBA.

  • In the beginning it was Gran Turismo 5.
Last week it was MGS Peace Walker turn.
    Now Quantum Theory.
I wonder if next week Hokuto Musour or Yakuza 4 will be delayed...

  • Yakuza 4 -- probably not, as Nagoshi recently said at a talk event that it will 100% definitely make it out on time. I think they're used to churning those out one a year by now.

Koei is probably depending on Hokuto Musou for its earnings, so that will probably come out no matter what, unless they find a major bug.

  • If Tecmo Koei (Toei?) wanted to meet player's expectations of the games, they would be releasing untested Betas. Since they're delaying them to improve quality, I should pencil them in for sometime in 2012 then?

  • Well, honestly, I'm not too disappointed. I wanted to play Trinity sooner, but they seemed to be dragging their feet when it came to marketing that game any way. And if it was going to be released in March, it likely would have been forced to (unfairly) be marketed at the same time as Hokuto. You don't need to be a marketing genius to see that would have been a stupid move.

So, I'm thinking Trinity is just going to be delayed til Summer. Perfect thing to perhaps try and market against Capcom's Sengoku BASARA 3's PS3 port, I think...
