Nintendo announced today that it and 54 other game companies have filed suit with Tokyo District Court against five companies over the import and sales of "Magicon" cartridges. The devices are also known commonly as "R4 Revolution."
A press release issued from Nintendo claims that these devices allow users to run downloaded game copies and have caused it and its partner companies "extremely large damages."
The suit targets Kanenka, Karei, Kamiyoko, Digital Navigator, and Creatimate, all Tokyo-based firms.
Joining Nintendo in the suit are major publishes like Capcom, Square Enix, Hudson, Sega, and Level-5. A more complete list can be found in the Nintendo press release (Japanese).
