Bandai Namco brought out a playable version of the latest Tekken update to the Amusement Machine Show, being held on the outskirts of Tokyo through Saturday. Tekken 6 Bloodline Rebellion is, as the name suggests, an update to Tekken 6, featuring new characters, stages, and items.
The game includes two new characters, Alisa Bosconovitch and Lars Alexandersson. Yes, those are the actual English spellings, and it took me three passes through the AM Show trailer to write them down completely.
Lars is described as a rebel who's risen to build a new era.
Alisa may be a cyborg. At the very least, gameplay footage shows her sprouting mechanical wings and floating about the play field. In one sequence, she took her head off and used it as a bomb.
The older characters are all back with new skills and updated balance. With the two newbies, the title now has a 40 characters in all -- the most ever for the series.
A number of new stages were shown in the AM Show trailer. They weren't given names, but I noticed a fiery harbor stage and a heliport where a chopper crashes into a building.
Similarly, a number of new items and customization options made it into the trailer. In addition to a gatling gun, a magic wand that shoots out hearts and stars, and what appeared to be penguins summoned up from the ground, you now have access to a hair customize system and can combine hair components into the hair style of your liking.
I haven't managed to get my hands on any official screenshots yet, so for now, check the gallery section for screen grabs and shots of the official pamphlet.
