Square Enix lets fans select songs for Star Ocean 4 bonus CD

Square Enix shared details today on a pre-order bonus item for Star Ocean 4, the Xbox 360 entry in the Star Ocean series that's due for domestic release on February 19. The company also provided a first look at the game's packaging.

Star Ocean 4 will be getting the expected soundtrack CD as a pre-order bonus item. However, Square Enix is taking a unique approach to deciding on the disc's content.

The company announced today today a promotion that will allow fans to vote for the tracks to be included on the soundtrack. Fans will be able to vote for their favorite songs from parts 1, 2, and 3 of the series.

Voting will take place from December 24 at 13:00 to January 9 at 24:00 at the Square Enix Members community site. Free membership is required.

The final CD will include, in addition to the fan selected pieces, choice selections from the development staff. In all, a total of 10 songs will be included on the free bonus.

To take part in the voting, visit the Square Enix Music section of the Square Enix Members site over the voting period. Square Enix will be putting up samples of nearly all songs from parts 1 to 3 for reference.
