Square Enix has made another giant leap in its internationally minded publishing efforts. The company announced today that it will serve as domestic publisher for Quantum of Solace. This latest James Bond video game adaptation was published overseas last year by Activision.

The Japanese version of the game will be released simultaneously on March 26 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, and Wii. Pricing is set at 8,190 yen for the PS3 and 360 versions and 7,140 yen for the PS2 and Wii.

Known in Japan as 007: Nagusame no Houshuu, Quantum of Solace is the second Bond movie to star Daniel Craig as the famous international spy. Although released overseas last year, the movie was released domestically just last month on the 24th.

Developed by Treyarch, the game adaptation makes use of the Call of Duty 4 engine and features first person action with a third person cover systems. Multiplayer network support includes 12 player play for the PS3 and 360 and 4 player play for the Wii.

Coinciding with this announcement, Square Enix has opened up an official website for the new game. The site offers screenshots and trailers.

For Square Enix, this is just the latest in a series of moves towards a more international lineup. Recently, the company formed a distribution deal with Ubisoft for the domestic distribution of the European giant's titles. Square Enix is also set to give a Japanese release to Major Minor's Majestic March.
