Valkyria Chronicles anime hits PlayStation Store

Sony made a major addition to its PlayStation Store video download service today. The Senjo no Valkyria (Valkyria Chronicles) anime is now available for rental download through the online shop. Pricing is set at the usual 300 yen for SD and 400 yen for HD, with the rental period lasting for 72 hours.

The anime version of the critically acclaimed Sega PS3 action/strategy title just recently hit the airwaves earlier this month.

In a statement today, Sony noted that the availability of the show on a download basis was a achieved as a tie-up between the television broadcasters and the PlayStation Network service. The aim is to increase awareness of the Valkyria franchise.

New episodes of the show will be made available every Wednesday.
