Sony CFO issues no comment on PS3 price drop
Why do people keep asking?

Sony's game division, like Sony has a whole, lost mega bucks last year -- to the tune of 58.8 billion yen. This is a lot better than the 124.5 billion yen loss the year before, but still... 58.8 billion yen!
Nikkei reported on some of the discussions surrounding these losses at Sony Group's earnings briefing earlier today.
During a Q&A session following the briefing, CFO Nobuyuki Oneda responded to a question about a possible hardware price drop: "Regarding pricing strategy, no comment. The PS3's economies continue to improve, and next year will see even further drop in costs. The strategy for the PS3 was not focused on number of units, but the number from here on out will increase."
Sony's earnings report from earlier in the day made specific mention of PlayStation Network sales rising by three times in the next term. Oneda clarified this, saying: "It may seem that software sales aren't increasing, but software is not just package software. It's possible that software sales through the 'net will increase by three times over the next year."
I wonder if anyone asked him about the new Chinese PS3 model.
