If you had a collection consisting of an Xbox 360 system, Dead Rising, Last Remnant, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Trusty Bell, Project Silpheed, Ace Combat 6, Resident Evil 5 Deluxe Edition, and Gears of War 2, how much would you expect to get for it at a used game shop?

One gamer found out the worth of his collection when he traded it in this past Wednesday at Amusement Developer and Hyper Media Shop Geo.

The proof is in the receipt:

All that product got our friend just ¥16,150. And that's with ¥2,100 in promotional bonus credit.

The 360 -- just the core system -- fetched the guy ¥4,200. His separate 20 gigabyte hard disk got him ¥500. All those big JRPGs Microsoft managed to secure, like Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey and Last Remnant? ¥500 each. Trusty Bell got only ¥300.

There are a few high points in the buy back. Dead Rising commands ¥1,800 for some reason. Ace Combat 6 and the limited editions of Resident Evil 5 and Gears of War 2 (or possibly 1 -- the full name isn't shown) got between ¥1,500 and ¥2,000.

Maybe our friend should have made his trade in on Tuesday, before Microsoft announced its price drop for Japan.

  • If only I could import a JP 360 and some games for that much!! The cheapest to import here is $290, for what I know. Not even worth thinking about.

  • Then they'll turn around and sell all that junk for three times what they paid the guy. Used games, serious business.
