Fukuoka-based Level-5, the studio behind Professor Layton, Dragon Quest IX and White Knight Chronicles, made a formal announcement yesterday of its plans for the upcoming Tokyo Game Show. Most of the information was already revealed at the company's Level-5 Vision press event last month.
The company will have in its booth what it says is the highest number of playable kiosks on the show floor. Inazuma Eleven 2, Professor Layton and the Demon's Flute, and Ni no Kuni will be playable on 250 DS demo stations.
Those who try out one of the games will receive a "fukubukuro," a bag containing a secret item. There are actually just two possibilities here: a video disc called Level-5 Premium Diamond or a DS demo cartridge called Level-5 Premium Platinum.
The demo cartridge, which was made available for the press to sample at the Level-5 Vision press conference, includes playable demos of the above playable titles. Additionally, Level-5 says that those who clear all three demos will unlock a secret game of some form.
The video disc will include video footage of the games that were shown at Level-5 Vision 2009.
Appearing in the Level-5 booth in video-only form are Danbol Senki, Atama no Taisou 3 & 4, Inazuma Eleven Future, Sloane & MacHale's Mysteries 2, and Mystery Room.
Level-5 product will appear elsewhere in the convention center as well. The Kids Corner area of the show will offer Inazuma Eleven 2 in four player combat and CPU battle modes.
The NTT DoCoMo booth will offers visitors an early chance at Ni no Kuni Hotroit Stories, along with other Level-5 mobile titles.
