This just in. Square Enix has announced a final release date for Batman Arkham Asylum. I repeat. Square Enix has announced a final release date for Batman Arkham Asylum.
The latest from the publisher of such titles as Final Fantasy and Star Ocean will hit Xbox 360 and PS3 locally on January 14. Previously, the game was flagged with a general winter release time frame.
Pricing is set at ¥7,980. The game is rated C, meaning only 15 and up can play. See the official site for a TGS trailer, with more content promised in the near future.
Overseas, Batman was released back in August. In its press release announcing the Japanese date, Square Enix noted that the game has been recognized by Guinness World Records as having the highest rating for a super hero video game (they'll track anything these days, it seems!). It also noted 2.5 million in shipments over the game's first four weeks in overseas release.
