I don't have anything new to write about New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The game is already being reviewed overseas, so you can probably find all you want to know about the game on overseas sites.

I do have one Japan-specific thing that you might be interested in seeing. Back during Nintendo's early October retail briefing, a Games Maya manager made mention of red packaging that he said would make New Super Mario Bros. Wii stand out. Today, we have a look at the package:

Most Wii games are in a white case. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen a Wii game that wasn't in a white case. As the Games Maya manager said, this should definitely stand out.

Presumably for a long time, if Miyamoto's comments during the retailer briefing are anything to go by.

  • I taken that the red also mean that it will be a huge seller worldwide. Thinking about it, I never saw a red Wii case before.

  • I was just expecting the label to be red, not the whole case.
