One of these days, Nintendo is going to officially acknowledge the existence of Zangeki no Reginleiv. But until then, we'll have to rely on retail leaks.
Today's leak is more visual than the all-text retail listings from last week. It appears that Nintendo is distributing a pamphlet for the game to retailers. Someone managed to scan the pamphlet. Clicky clicky!
Zangeki no Reginleiv gives you control of brother and sister gods Freyr and Freyja in a story that surrounds the Ragnarok of Norse Mythology (I completely missed the point in my previous article and spelled their names wrong). Fighting alongside mortals, you'll face off against masses of giant enemy gods.
The pamphlet offers a look at the character designs, a stage select map, and an online lobby with chat bubbles (it's unclear if these are preset phrases or if you'll have free chat).
You can also get a glimpse at the arsenal of over 300 weapons that are available to Freyr and Freyja. Freyr is good with close range weapons, like swords, spears and hammers. Freyja is good with magic attacks and long distance weapons.
Previous reports confirmed Wii Motion Plus support for the game. This is just an option. You can also use the Wiimote on its own and the Classic Controller.
Zangeki no Reginleiv hits on February 11 at ¥6,800. The game is flagged with a D rating, hopefully meaning lots of carnage.

The concepts of the game are interesting, but I am concerned that this will be another mindless hack-and-slash game in the likeness of the Dynasty Warrior series. This is what I typically see in violent games.

So you're looking for cerebral gameplay in the action genre? Let me know how that works out for ya. Game will rock, in Sandlot we trust!
