The Xbox 360 version of Idol Master became a success story more for its download content than for actual units sold. But it seems that Xbox 360 owners aren't alone in their interest for downloadable accessories and songs.
Namco Bandai announced today that the PSP entry in the series, Idol Master SP, has topped the one million download mark for its catalogue of content. This figure includes both free and paid content, although it should be noted that most of the content available for download is paid.
To celebrate the feat, Namco Bandai will be holding an "appreciation campaign" early next year, where it makes some of the DLC cheaper. The campaign will be held in three phases: phase 1 from from January 27 through February 22, phase 2 from February 24 through March 29, and phase 3 from March 31 through April 26.
Impress Watch has a full schedule of what will see price drops.
Idol Master SP was released on February 19. Different from the 360 arcade port, it spanned three separate releases, Perfect Sun, Wandering Star, and Missing Moon, each featuring a different set of three girls. Since release, Namco Bandai has been offering monthly download content updates.
