Dengeki publisher ASCII Media Works kicked off the year sales chart rush a bit early on Saturday with the announcement of its top 30 games for the calendar 2009 year.
As reported at Dengeki Online, the ASCII chart covers from December 29, 2008 through December 20, 2009. Nintendo-related product dominated the charts as expected, with Dragon Quest IX, Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Siler and Friend Collection leading the way on DS, and New Super Mario Bros. It is not yet 2010 and Nintendo dominated the 2010 sales charts? You must be thinking about 2009 which it did.

The numbers for Ryu ga Gotoku 3 are inverted, Dengeki reports 525,826.
Otherwise it would have sold more copies than Biohazard 5 :)

You know, I still have no idea what Friend Collection is. Is it like a girlfriend simulation, but with friends instead?
Yeah, well otherwise. That's a ton of handheld and Wii games, and for FFXIII to make it in like that is incredible given it only had 2 weeks.

Friend Collection is like a virtual world where your Miis exist amongst themselves. It's the perfect title for casual players.
