Tetsuya Nomura's True Intentions Discovered
Square Enix hotshot may have encoded a secret message in Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

I've heard from a few people that Tetsuya Nomura is a PlayStation fanboy, which is why Final Fantasy Versus XIII isn't coming out on Xbox 360 and why Kingdom Hearts 3 is totally going to be released on the PlayStation 3.
Some 2channelers have found solid, irrefutable proof of Nomura's love of Sony.
That's Noctis Lucis Caelum, main character of Versus XIII. Why did Nomura go with such a peculiar-sounding name instead of something more fitting like Frank, Chuck or Todd?
Well, it seems that if you reorder the words in the character's name, you get:
"NOMULA IS SCE CULTIC."
Nomula is Japanese for Nomura. SCE is, of course, short for Sony Computer Entertainment.
From its root, I deduced that "cultic" must have something to do with cults, and sure enough Merriam Webster defines it as "great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (as a film or book)."
I'm not really good with anagrams, but perhaps someone can find something similar for heroine Stella Nox Fleuret.
Here's a funny picture I took of Nomura at the Advent Children premier a few years back:

It would be funny if Nomura had no idea Noctic's name could be arranged like that and more of a mere coincident...freaky.

Translated literally, Noctis (night) Lucis (light) Caelum (sky/ heavens)would mean the main protagonist's name would be 'Heavenly Lights of the Night'.
Stella (star) Nox (night) Fleuret (flower [in French]) would mean 'Flower of the Starry Night'.
Incidentally, Nox Noctis is one word for Night, like Felix Felicis is for Lucky.
I've taken some liberty with arranging the meaning of the names since they can't be placed in literal order of meaning as Latin and English word placements are different.

Fleuret doesn't mean Flower in french, it's a type of sword used in sports. Believe me, I am french ;)

In Gemaga Interview I think, he said that his most anticipated title in 2010 is... SOCOM 3 for PSP (he's disappointed by its delayed release in Japan) and a certain popular hunting game (forget how he mentioned it in the interview, but it's pointed to MHP3) for PSP which he believed will be released...

Uh, it's not French, it's Latin. None of the other words in the name are French, why would you even think that? The reason why the sword is called a fleuret is because it's hilt looks like a flower. The french word for flower is fleur, so it's not a very big leap anyway, clearly you don't even speak French.
Anyway, Taimoorh is completely correct, though I'd transliterate the second name as "Star Flower of the Night." It's kind of lame that the author of this article just thinks they're funny sounding names, anyone who has ever taken biology should have some exposure to Latin, but even just paying enough attention in high school English should expose you to Latin roots. The names are highly recognizable as Latin.
Also, Nomura is Japanese for Nomura, Nomula is how you might spell it when accounting for the fact that L sounds and R sounds in English words are often confused by Japanese speakers, hence the hybrid of English and Japanese is known as Engrish.

Not putting Final Fantasy Versus XIII on 360 doesn't make Nomura a PS3 fanboy, it just means he wants his games to be the best possible. There is a very good reason that Versus XIII looks 10X better than XIII you know.......i'll leave you to guess the reason.

Dear Mr. Anoop,
I just signed up to inform you of the irrefutable fact that this article is, beyond any doubt, full of fail.
I would also like to make you aware of the fact that the picture you have there of Mr. Nomula is in no way funny.
Sincerely,
NeoSL

I thought this article is actually mainly about jokes that Nomura is Sony Fanboy, wasn't it?
taimoorh @ 2009.12.30, 6:11
I think you should just put a 'sarcasm' tag next time just to be on the safe side. A lot of people are flaming you for being a PS3 fanboy lol!
Exelx @ 2009.12.30, 8:28
hmm, i guess that makes sense. Nomura's name getting famous because of SCE. If i remember correctly, Hideo Kojima is said to be PlayStation Fanboy too. I wonder if that's true ^ ^
