Line Attack Heroes Hits Next Week

Line Attack Heroes is another one of those Nintendo games that disappeared following its announcement. It's at long last back. And not only that. It's set for release next week!

Nintendo opened an official site for the game confirming it as a 1,000 Wii Point WiiWare release. Players can download it on the 27th.

Line Attack Heroes is a unique action game where you attempt to build up a growing line of allies. Defeated foes fall into formation behind you. As you defeat more foes, your line grows longer, making you stronger and less likely to be defeated by the large enemies who await.

Get your line long enough, and you can perform special "line attacks" by swinging the Wiimote. These make your entire line perform an attack in the form of a weapon. There are three attacks:

Sword -- Spin Line

Your line swings like a sword.

Spear -- Rush Line

Your line rushes at enemies in front of you.

Hammer -- Press Line

Your line pounds the ground in front of you like a hammer.

Certain enemies you encounter are known as heroes. This is the name given to enemies who have weapons. Defeat these special characters, and they may join your line. You'll then have access to the heroes' weapon. You can easily toggle between the various weapons held by the multiple heroes in your line.

In addition to weapons from your heroes, you also have access to accessories, earned after the fight. You can equip your character with a single accessory prior to battle. The accessories alter your capabilities in various ways.

You have access to two modes of play in Line Attack Heroes:

Scenario Mode

This mode leads you through a story and can be played cooperatively with a second player. You select missions from a mission select screen. Clear each mission, and you advance through the story. You can use your Mii to play this mode.

Battle Mode

A four player combat mode with Battle Royal (defeat all your opponents), Flag Battle (steal the flag by surrounding it by the longest line) and Tag Match (2 on 2 versus) rules.
